The average priest in the Archdiocese of New York gets about $15,000 per year, plus room and board and Mass stipends.
So basically 15,000 spending money? I'd take it!(Most diocese also include a car/insurance provision. NY might not because...well, who has cars in NYC?)
No--it's $15K LESS TAXES for 'spending' money--and they may have to report the stipends as income, AND they may have to report the living quarters as income (though I doubt it.)It's about 1/2 of the Milwaukee scale--or less.
Of course, in New York going to a movie costs about $80...
