Pope Francis, insult comic

Michael Brendan Dougherty reported at The Week.
"The unnoticed part of the 'new tone' in the church is that Francis is practically an insult comic. Where Benedict sought to condemn errors in the abstract, Pope Francis makes it personal and attacks tendencies within certain groups of people, usually in highly stylized papal idioms."
The electors presumably knew what they'd be getting, since, as a Der Spiegel commentator noted not long after the conclave,
"Just last month, in response to an interviewer's question about the Roman Curia, the governing body of the Catholic Church, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio said that 'journalists sometimes risk becoming ill from coprophilia and thus fomenting coprophagia, which is a sin that taints all men and women.'"
Mr. Dougherty's report in The Week notes,
"One Catholic blogger has been commissioned to compile all the Vicar of Christ's invective into The Pope Francis Little Book of Insults."
Possibly not suitable as a First Communion or Confirmation gift.
