Bringing the cemetery to you

People put the cremated remains of family members in everything from jewelry to lawn decorations, Jan Uebelherr reported at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The idea seems to be that keeping the dead physically close keeps them close in spirit, in some sense. This is contrary to Catholic Church teaching and practice regarding funerals, as the article briefly indicates, but does have some resemblance to its teaching and practice on relics of saints.
