Whitney Gould retired as architecture critic at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel before I could make Cube-of-the-month a regular feature, but the paper's recent report on the Wisconsin AIA awards includes some candidates.
"The Stacked Cabin by Johnsen Schmaling, is a modest-sized, three-tiered cabin that hugs a hill in a remote forest in Muscoda. This rigorous collection of vertically stacked cubes seems to glow in the landscape. ..."
and
