Sucked up into low earth orbit

NASA has announced that the Space Telescope Science Institute is naming its archive of images from the Hubble and other space observatories after U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski.

Mark Krikorian asks "Has NASA really run out of fallen astronauts to name things after?"

Perhaps it's like the U.S.S. Vinson, named for the hero of the Battle of Appropriations.
