Our standing and sitting, kneeling and processing, our genuflecting and bowing, speaking and listening tells us something too. They tell us that we are God's people, joined together and united in Christ in the work of Salvation.
Kneeling? Genuflecting? We don't do either at Mass at our parish, and the people in charge of liturgy have gone to great lengths to keep it that way.
Much to my aggravation there is no kneeling at St. Seb's during the Eucharist. Thought they were the only ones in Milw. still doing this. I don't know how these parishes get away with it - seemed the last GIRM made it pretty clear. You'd think they'd realize how arrogant it seems to outsiders.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the priest assigments are from kneeling and non-kneeling lists. The pastor at St. Sebastian was previously our pastor at St. Alphonsus.
