An Unworkable Theology

How's the grass on the other side of another fence? Philip Turner reports.
... The Episcopal Church's current working theology depends upon the obliteration of God's difficult, redemptive love in the name of a new revelation. The message, even when it comes from the mouths of its more sophisticated exponents, amounts to inclusion without qualification.

The grass on the other side of the fence is as withered and dry as old straw and yet there are plenty of Catholics who are hellbent on climbing over. I wouldn't mind terribly if they went and left me in peace(plenty of room in those Episcopalian pews), but I object to being hauled over there myself.

It's one of the wonders of the age that mainline Protestantism has become the Golden Calf for so many Catholics just at the point when thousands of mainline Protestants are running for the exits. (I am reminded of certain leftists I know who still hold up Western Europe as a social model we should follow - they apparently haven't seen the German unemployment stats lately.)

Catholic liberals are extremely fond of pointing out that Christ associated with sinners and publicians. They forget the little line "Go and sin no more." If all Jesus was was a inclusive kinda guy who went around with a smile and a hug for everyone and told them they were swell and dandy just the way they were, he would have posed a threat to no one and would not have been crucified.

You might want to check out http://pontifications.classicalanglican.net/

Episcopalians in Texas are kindly offering their advice to the Catholic Church, which they see as having a "death wish" due to the election of Benedict XVI. Their advice: Become just like us!

Taking advice from the Episcopalians at this juncture would be like trying to cure your pnuemonia by cutting off your legs. Alas, all too many Catholics are reaching for the saw,...,
